She made me feel comfortable...
Anh was a pleasure to work with :) She is very organized and has an entire system in place to make the process run smoothly. She made me feel comfortable during the shoot and I had so much fun taking pics and celebrating the completion of my PhD with her. The pictures came out beautifully and I'm so glad I chose to work with her. Thank you, Anh!"

She made me feel beautiful...
Day of shoot, she was on-time, brought all the equipment we needed, and was a helpful guide when I didn't know how to pose. She made me feel beautiful. Showed the photos to me during the shoot and then adjusted to what I liked versus didn't like. My edited album turned out amazing."

She is so kind, genuine, and incredibly talented...
Anh is the BEST photographer in the whole world!! She is so kind, genuine, and incredibly talented. I think my favorite part about working with her was how comfortable and confident she made me feel, especially because I was a little nervous at the beginning. Throughout our session, we talked, exchanged stories, and laughed A LOT. She is such a cool human and a really good photographer too."
Grace, NC State
“
Amazing photographer. Amazing hype woman. Amazing experience...
Her energy is positive and uplifting. She gave me prompts for posing (which I desperately needed) and made me feel so confident throughout the session. She is also insanely organized and knowledgeable about the campuses."

If you are a nervous Nelly like me...there was no worrying!
Anh was PHENOMENAL. From the very start, she was SO ORGANIZED. She has put so much work into perfecting this experience for graduates and it was clear. After the initial zoom call, I received a guide written by Anh that described the next steps in detail."

Each session is designed to make your experience stress-free, whether we’re working around campus crowds at the Old Well or timing sunset perfectly at Duke Chapel.
average solo grad investment of $750
After years of photographing grads at UNC, Duke, and campuses across North Carolina, I’ve combined my experience and client feedback into the perfect stress-free experience for you!
Depending on what you envision for your session, you can choose between three different packages from a 2.5 hour session that let's us explore multiple campus landmarks to a 1 hour session perfect for your favorite spot or two.
The 1.5 hr and 2 hr packages can be upgraded to add 1-2 friends. Groups of 4+ people are taken on a limited basis.
Packages start at 1 hour. For grads wanting UNC senior portraits or Duke campus photos, you can book up to 2.5 hours to cover multiple locations—like the Old Well, the Bell Tower,, Wilson Library, and Coker Arboretum if you're a UNC grad or the Chapel, Chapel Drive, and Duke Gardens if you're a Duke grad.
It all depends on your preferences! Group sessions can be a great way to get a variety of photos with friends with each of you getting a few individual photos, whereas an individual session is all about you! We will be able to prioritize your preferences to make sure the session turns out exactly as you envision.
During your consultation call, we can discuss the best option for you if you're still unsure as to which direction you'd like to go. I'm a firm believer in guiding clients towards the package that best fits their needs and not pushing you for one that doesn't, so you'll get my honest opinion.
Definitely. My Client Experience Guide (sent after you book with me) has location suggestions with links to galleries that have photos for you to look at. I usually defer to you to pick which locations you want to go to, but I'm always happy to provide input.
If you're a UNC grad, sunrise is typically better than sunset during peak graduation season (April–May) due to much shorter wait times at popular spots like the Old Well and the Bell Tower. Sunrise and sunset will have different "looks," so it will come down to your priorities with crowds vs lighting (both are great!). As always, it also depends on how cloudy or sunny it is that day.
If you're a Duke grad, I only photograph at sunset due to the lighting around campus. If you're only wanting to photograph at Duke Gardens, we can do either sunrise or sunset.
The exact timing of sunrise and sunset sessions will depend on the time of year, but typically I try to start sunrise sessions right at sunrise or within 30–60 minutes. With sunset sessions I try to end about 30–45 minutes before actual sunset.
MAY GRADUATES
Hands down March or early to mid-April if you're a May graduate. The end of April and early May before graduation day gets hectic (especially at UNC at popular spots like the Old Well, the Seal, and the Bell Tower), and it's nice to get pictures done earlier with plenty of time to get them before graduation.
Be aware that the closer you shoot to graduation weekend (2 weeks or less out), having people in the background is a risk you'll have to take. Sometimes this is avoidable with strategic body placement, but when it's really busy, it is not always possible to get every single person out of the background.
AUGUST GRADUATES
June and July are off-peak months, so you won't have to worry about long lines. The main thing you'll have to worry about is humidity and heat with North Carolina summers, so really it's based off your tolerance for both of those things.
DECEMBER GRADUATES
This depends on what you're looking for. September will be fairly warm but no fall foliage. October should be pretty mild in terms of weather (but sometimes it gets hot - it was 70-80 degrees when I did my photos in mid-October!). Early to mid-November should have fall foliage but may be chillier.
If there is a forecast of bad weather or the weather turns on us during the session, we can reschedule. Do not worry about the forecast if it's more than 3 days out because it can change quickly. I will work with you 1-2 days before your session date to figure out a new game plan if the forecast isn't looking great. I'm pretty flexible with this and will work with you for weather reschedules!
At a minimum: comfortable walking shoes, water, snacks, makeup to touch up (if you plan to wear makeup), and of course, your cap and gown. I also encourage you to bring props!
When you book a graduation session with me, you will get access to my Client Experience Guide that outlines everything in detail to help you prepare for your session.
ABSOLUTELY. If you do want to bring pet(s), I just ask that there is someone who can help with watching them when they're not in photos, giving snacks, maybe grabbing their attention for photos, etc.
Once you inquire, I'll send over my details, and we can set up a call to chat through your ideas and vision. I want to hear what you're excited about, and I'll share tips and advice to help bring it all to life—from picking the perfect spots at UNC or Duke to planning around campus crowds and golden hour light.
After you’re officially booked, you’ll get a Client Experience Guide with everything you need to feel totally prepared. From what to bring and what to wear, to location ideas and Pinterest boards for inspiration, this guide will walk you through it all so you feel confident, excited, and ready for your session.
Final photos are delivered 3–4 weeks after your session!
